Does walking into a restaurant and ordering your items on an iPad, looks like that’s the future of food and beverage (F&B) sector? Think again.
Singapore-based Eunoia is here to change the way you browse the menu, order and pay. And this time round, with your own smartphone.
Eunoia aims to solve the industry’s major problem- a shortage of manpower- by reducing the reliance of workers through the online platform, Ordr. It allows diners to place orders and pay at the table using their own smartphones. The Ordr system also delivers a scalable e-menu with payment facilities that seamlessly connect merchants and diners. With a mere S$125 per month, businesses could potentially save up to S$58,500 annually as it is able to reduce 2 service staff after implementation (assuming the outlet has 20 tables).
Ordr also eases the pain of operators having to deal with multiple food ordering platforms. Currently, different food ordering platforms use different formats, technologies and API, thus, operators may have to manually update changes across each platform. With the order aggregation system, Eunoia integrates orders from different ordering platforms into one channel. Its menu management system can help update menu across all food ordering apps.

Adding Value To Businesses With The “Geek” Within Him
I am a geek at heart. I love to tingle with new technology and ultimately unlock its value for businesses and the society. When I got my first programming job at 16, I was amazed at how technology can drive real value when the right questions are asked. Besides Eunoia, I founded an innovation consulting firm, Savant Degree, 8 years ago that enabled me to provide consulting and learn from the best leaders in their fields. That experience shaped the way I think about business and technology.
In 2014, we worked on an innovation project with SPRING, PayPal and Coastes, a popular Sentosa restaurant, on a self-ordering project. It was a success. And most importantly, it helped me learnt more about the F&B space. I strongly believe that there is a lot of potential for innovating in this space so I started Eunoia to help other technologists and F&B operators to accelerate digital innovations.
Eunoia has a big ambition of being the enabler and driver of customer experience innovation for the F&B industry. It was a bold vision, it was a lot of work initially to convince partners that we will do this for the long run. We are happy that we found good partners who believe in our goals and are working with us to develop new concepts.
Creating An Eco-System Instead Of Competition
We prefer to see everyone in this space as partners we can work with. We set ourselves the goal of creating an open platform for all our partners to connect to. In addition, we want to work with all technology partners to create an eco-system where F&B operators can easily innovate with technology.
Our clients are typically enterprises which are interested in building up a presence in the F&B space. They range from payment technology providers, mall owners to large F&B operators managing at least 30 stores.
Unlike others, we are a PaaS that enables the possibilities of more SaaS. Our platform enables our partners to quickly design and develop food innovations from ordering, delivery, the kiosk to other interesting customer touch points like iWatch and bot ordering. We provide SDK (Software Development Kit), API (Application Programming Interface) and even concepts to help our partners get started.
Our end-goal is to enable our clients to improve their concepts and grow their user bases. If they are successful, so are we.
Current Team And Future Plans
Our team consist of designers and software engineers who are driven to design better customer experiences in the F&B space with the use of digital technology.
We challenge ourselves to design better user experiences by pushing the boundaries of technology. And this is in terms of solution integration, payment integration and partner collaboration.
In addition, we are actively contributing to F&B productivity and tech dialogues in Singapore. We also look forward to sponsoring our technology for events. It is to show people how quick and easy they can design great customer experience with good technology.
